Policies

Deposits –
We require a $75 deposit on a hedgehog before the hedgehog is 7 weeks old. Deposits are non-refundable. We accept PayPal, USPS money order, and cashiers checks for deposits. A personal check is also accepted for the deposit only. If a check is returned, purchaser is responsible for fees incurred. We will email you when your deposit is received, and again when your hedgehog is weaned to schedule a pickup appointment. The deposit will hold the baby until he/she is 8 weeks old, after which, full payment is needed to continue to care for your hedgehog up to an additional week, as long as a pickup time has been arranged. After that time, boarding fees of $20/week will be incurred. If there has been a failure to make an appointment to pick up your hedgehog, and no contact by 8 weeks old, the monies and hedgehog are forfeit.

Payment –
We accept cash, USPS money order, or cashier’s checks at pickup. We do not accept personal checks at pick up.

Refunds-
Terrapin Hedgehogs takes pet ownership seriously. As with any pet, a prospective owner should research before buying. If the purchaser changes their mind and chooses to relinquish the animal, we will take it back. Either caring for it ourselves, or finding it a suitable home. Hedgehog sales are non-refundable.

Health –
Terrapin Hedgehogs guarantees that all our hedgehogs, to the best of our knowledge, are in good health and free from communicable disease at the time of purchase. There is a two week health guarantee from the date of pickup against pre-existing conditions. If your hedgehog dies within one year, and the necropsy report from a licensed exotics veterinarian is given showing that your hedgehog died due to a hereditary or congenital defect, then replacement can be arranged for a comparable hedgehog.
